Very heavy fuel consumption & often can't get in.

Most of the time I can't get in my car, then when I can I can only drive it about three miles on a full tank (to the petrol station and back).

I'm pretty sure the problem is related to the optional girlfriend that's fitted to the driver's seat. Has anyone else had this problem?

I believe it was a factory option. I decided it was too expensive & probably unnecessary.

(it also doubles up as an inaccurate sat nav )

Most definately.

Also has a built in speed limiter and a radio auto tuning function I find most irritating.

I finally traced the annoying squeaking sounds when pressing on round sharp bends to this add on....

Nope, tried that....still doesn't disable the speed limiter or stop the squealing on bends. Mine makes simimar noise under hare acceleration as well. :-(

The incessant whining this optional extra can produce is, however, easily remedied by removing the loose nut from the passenger seat.

I specifically opted for the passanger only girlfriend option and promptly laughed when asked if it would ever be installed in the drivers side.

Yes, I thought about the passenger-only option, but last night I thought I'd just take it out instead, which I did: We went to the pub for nearly eleventy hours and I topped up with cider and wine. When I staggered back to the car park I remembered why I'd ordered this particular option and it worked really well in getting me back home.

I think best only installed in the drivers side in emergencies, however the model I opted for would have trouble seeing over the steering wheel even with the pedal adjustment.

True that.... And theres NO WAY a booster seat is going to scuff my lovely tan hide. :-)

I was wondering where that squealing noise and rev limiter came from... im sure previous owner said he had it removed!!!
