How many ways?

On the subject of locking yourself out of your Chim. I've managed to do it about 6 times now - yesterday being the best in my opinion. Just thought I'd share with you the different ways:

Flat battery - obvious! :(
Disconnected my battery and closed the doors - common! :o
Disconnected my battery and closed the doors - common!
Disconnected my battery and closed the doors - common!
Locked my car with keys in the boot - Sweet :rolleyes:
and yesterday:
I disconnected both door solenoids and closed the doors :smokin:

I think I must have covered all ways of locking yourself out, but then the door solenoid thing was a beauty, because after disconnecting the solenoids, I actually had to put the door mechanism back together just to allow myself to lock the door - work of art! I am a genius!

I also learnt the hard way about the flat battery thing. Battery was stone dead a couple of months ago after having left something on, got in the secret way (bearing in mind in garage so only a foot clearance on passenger side and 2 foot on drivers, disconnected battery after half hour on my side with no room to move and then feeling very proud of myself shut the the doors . Annoyed I got back in again, deliberately leaving the door ajar, needed something from back of garage so automatically closed the door again to get past . Think I did this 4 times in the space of an hour. You just instinctively close the door without thinking and it's bloody annoying.

Guys (and girls) for the sake of a few $ (sorry no pounds button) you can put two batery poles at the front of the car that arn't obvious.Job done.

I always drive in snout first. I had a close call the other day. Been on holiday, came back and thought better clear the pipes out opened doors and went to start it got the classic click,click,click from the engine. Battery dead... So Cannot jump start as leads too short cannot charge garage too far away. Got my generator from the camper and then the battery charger and headed to the garage. Ran the charger for about 20 mins, this gave me enough to start the car and put in out the front for a good 5 hour charge! One thing I have found is they are quite heavy to push out of a garage, still you can get extra leverage from the back wall

I find the best thing to do is hang a coat/jumper over the door to stop this habit. also to stop locking keys in boot I use a keychain 'cos this very same thing was a close call the other day when filling up.
