Hi All
Have just go myself a Chimaera and planing to do so upgrades would like to know were to get parts.
1 max wheel and tyre size
2 light upgrades front and rear
3 brake upgrade

hello why didnt u buy one with light conversion already done...save money that way!due to offsets of wheels u r restricted to designs on offer but 17 or 18 inchs can fit obviously with lower profile tyres.....any good wheel/tyre supplier should be able to advise but if you look on the search engine for "wheels" this should help u .lots of people on this site dont like u messin with your car but i think mine is more up to date with lights and new alloys.see my profile photo and good luck,what i want next is the exhaust conversion where they take the baffles out.....oh yes! rob

Be aware that going too big with rim size will spoil the ride and road holding.

I think someone on this forum has got 18inch alloys on the rear and 17inch on the front.

I have 17inch alloys all round and dont have a problem with ride. However, i do feel that handling is sacrificed slightly. Whatever tickles your fancy i suppose.

I would recommend going for 16s front and 17s back to keep the original "stance" (nose down look).

As for the brakes: i wanna upgrade myself cause after fitting larger wheels, my discs look like lil' ballbags amongst all the metal.

The combination of rim size and tyre profile make the overall wheel diameter the same front and back.

I have 16" spiders all round but I think the car would look better with 17" on the rear. You need to decide what is more important to you. What the car looks like or how it drives.

TALKING OF LIGHT UP-GRADES, AS ANYONE THOUGHT OR DONE, A HEAD LIGHT UP-GRADE USING THE NEW MINI HEAD LIGHTS? WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE NEW MINI THE HEAD LIGHTS LOOK TO BE THE SAME ANGLE AS THE CHIMAERA'S HEAD LIGHT, BUT WITHOUT THE HEAD LIGHT TRIM! PLUS THE MINI HEAD LIGHTS ALREADY COME WITH ZENON (HID) FITTED! I THINK IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE A CONVERSION, SO IF THERE'S ANYONE OUT THERE WHO'S GOOD AT COMPUTER GRAFFIC'S, NOWS YOUR CHANCE TO PROVE YOURSELF!

FORGOT TO MENTION, I'VE GOT 17" SPIDERS, BUT THEIR THE RIPSPEED REPLICA'S WITH THE FOUR STUD, SO THERE WAS NO NEED TO CHANGE ALL THE HUBS AND DISC'S! CHEAP AS CHIP'S!

You could fit a 19" rear (265/30/19) and an 18" front (225/35/18) with say Toyos www.toyo.co.uk/index.php?fuseaction=car.t1-s orPZeros www.pirelli.co.uk/en_GB/tyres/catalog/tyre_product.jhtml?selected=size&catid=UK_UHP&productid=8543 but above 17" the performance and price will both be less attractive.

Hi Andy, got 17inch khan's on mine (see profile) + after burner rear light's. Khan's are about £800 + tyres. after burners about £350 inc vat. Previous owner had just put them on the car before I bought it, very nice of him I thought. Trev.

Ok!Ok! If anyone wants a picture then e-mail me and post one on to you? As regards Xenon head lights, they give off less heat than halogen and use less power, maybe up to a third less in fact, I' got a XENON KIT on e-bay if anyones interested, it's a bi-xenon, H4 with the high-low beam, agood ISO 9001, German make, not Asian rubbish, top quality!( thats enough of the hard sales pitch)If anyone does know of a mini xenon conversion on to a Chimaera, let me know, I would love to see it?
