Hi All,

I ordered a new oil pressure sender (fleabay) Just realised it has 2 connectors and mine only has one. Obviously, the original earths at the body.

Will it work/ can I work around it??

Cheers.

Yes, the original earths through the screw connection.

The one you've got is probably similar to the replacement that I fitted years ago - one of the terminals will be an earth. You simply need to run a wire to an earthing point. I used the point near the back of the driver's side wheel. Remember to allow enough slack wire to cater for engine movement.

On some senders the earth terminal is marked "G" for ground.

Whilst the 2 terminal version of the sender is most likely signal and earth there is another option.
There is a version where the body is earth, one terminal is pressure sender, the other is a low pressure switch so the one sender does both gauge and warning light.
Use a multimeter to test if either of the terminals has continuity to the body.

Just to add some extra confusion, its worth noting some of the gauges have the post labelled G as meaning Gauge !! The earth/ground is labelled N. Least it is on mine.

Pretty easy to swap wires over of course if needed.

So on a double if one terminal has continuity to the body it is acting like a switch?
