Hi. Rear brake discs are about 75% clear but about 25% nearest hub is slightly rusted.I cleaned them completely for test about month ago and noticed rust is back. Both sides are the same.Pads cover all of disc area .Rust is only slight and even all around disc so don’t think discs are warped or anything like that.Car stops ok and no issues with handbrake on mot. Any thoughts. Thanks
Hi, I’m not totally clear on what you mean.
Are you saying that an area of the disc that is swept by the pads is rusty?
Or a part of the disc nearer the hub, where the pads wouldn’t reach?
If the latter, and depending on what discs you have this is normal.
There have been threads on here the mention painting of the hubs to remove the rust.
