Driver's door mirror

I know there's hundreds of door mirror posts but I can't see one that suits me and I think my symptoms are specific enough to find an easy answer:

Drivers door mirror will not work with the adjuster. Passenger side is fine, and the component in the door clicks when set to the right as it does for passenger (left).

Is it obvious from this where the problem lies?

I don't know the answer, but if you take the driver side speaker out, you can get to the wiring that connects to the mirror motors - maybe worth checking the connection.

From memory there is a 2 wire connection (for opening the door) and a 4 wire or something (which is for the mirror motors).
