Wishbone bushes

Took the wheels off the other day and noticed that the bushes between the chassis and the upper and lower wishbones have seen better days, which would account for the nasty clicking noise when hard turning slowly, or turning while on a hill/camber.

How easy is it to replace them myself??

I'm by no means a novice at car work, I've done a fair ammount to the Chim, and even harder to work on - my Celica!! (Steering rack, driveshafts, suspension, brake pipes etc etc!) but this is a job I've never tackled before.

Also, which bushes would you guys reccommend??

Easy, go for Powerflex black bushes for the best all round performance.

The only problem you might encounter is getting the old bushes out, the easiest way is to burn the rubber on the existing bush.

Tis covered in the bible in detail. Bushes can take anything from a few minutes to more than a couple of hours for each bush depending on how cooperative they are and what equipment you have.

what sort of state are the wishbones in ? if they nee replacing too it's cheaper(time wise) to just change them out complete as they come with the bushes in them...

Where do you get the new wishbones from, just in case I need to tackle my 9 year old?

Most Main dealers stock them or can get them in a day or two they are not precision made and you may have to adjust the forks in a vice to get them to fit The rears just come in and out the fronts need the spring compressing to get them in and out. Don't forget to have a four track done when all the new wishbones are fitted.
