Temp Gauge Problems!!

Thought my car was overheating last night as after a 2 min journey the temp was above 90 degrees

Stopped the car but everything seemed quite cool compared what the car is like at 100 degree plus temps.

Fans kicked in as normal and I decided the car was not in fact overheating but I had faulty electrics.

Anyway this morning when the engine was stone cold and before I started the engine I switched on the ignition, and low and behold the temp shot stright up to 90 degrees.

Now does this sound like a symptom of the gauge or the sender?

Also, something to note, a few weeks back I noticed the oil pressure gauge does the same, when ignition on and engine not running I have 15 PSI/bar/pounds?? of pressure in the engine, amazing!

I'd be inclined to try the sender first of all, mainly because they're cheap to replace (though a bugger to get to).
