Does anyone have any experience of replacing the hood and the material on the removable roof section on a Chimaera.

Any tips or tricks or links to previous posts would be appreciated

Thanks

For the cost and relative liklihood of a major cock up, I wouldn't be doing it myself.

Plenty of decent trimmers out there for not huge money.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I wouldn't be messing with it.

Alternatively, I have a complete rook in good order I'd be willing to sell. Maybe even for the price of a retrim.

Black with magnolia inside.

Seals aren't hard to replace. Rear window, a bit more tricky!

It's a MK1. Complete roof, still attached to the hoop and targa panel available, and off the car. I've gone for a two piece hard top. I'm in Bristol and Manchester but I'm sure we could work something out.

I had my complete hood replaced there just over a year ago and you will be looking at £1100 all in. Can’t fault it, they did a beautiful job but it is expensive.

If you are a competent DIYer (I’m not) then you may want to consider something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124338616281?mkcid=16&a...

The ad is for a Griffith but they offer Chimaeras as well.

I went the DIY route, mainly because I'm up in Aberdeen and couldn't find anyone locally that i trusted to fit it.

Took my time and it came out pretty well, but given the choice i think i would get a specialist to do it.
