Hi All long time no speak.
This is a sad day...I've been looking to get into the property game for a while now. I've been to look at an apartment tonight which would make a very good investment also my plan is to buy 1 or 2 more. But to do this I will have to sell my P&J...when I thought this I felt sick to the stomach..I mean really sick! I feel so sad for even thinking this way..how could I think like this? The thing is I love the car so much it's a dream to drive and never let me down apart from a wheel bearing needed replacing and the hot start problem which has been sorted courtesy of one of David Beer (modwise kits). Even Paul (service manager) from Christopher Neil’s said it's one of the nicest he's ever driven. I feel sick and scared of selling it, because I feel I wouldn’t ever find one as nice if I bought one in the future. I don't know what I should do I hoped it wouldn’t come to this but I have to think of my future. What a decision I have to make

And buy another one too! Go into the property market, make some serious money and buy a sagaris/911 turbo/gallardo....oh and the same chimaera you are about to sell(im sure it will still be around in a few years).
As good as the car may be, there is nothing like finacial security. Money for you, your wife and kids and more cars.Even if you dont have a wife, i heard you can buy a stunner from "russianbrides.net"!Now that makes alot of sense with all the extra equity you will have from property.

Funny you should say that..I was in Malta for a week last May on my own and met a stunning Russian girl..she's been over here to see me a few weeks ago and is coming back in September for a couple of weeks, then I'm flying back out to Malta with her for a week. Luckily she is fluent English (spoken and written)I will have to get some pics with her in the car..two stunning things together
Keep the car. You could go under a bus in 6 months and you'd have had six months less of life with your Chim. Appreciate there's a balance between long term prudence (Mr Brown) and reckless hedonism, but if you love it that much it's got to be worth hanging on to it.
If you're looking at buying 2 or 3 flats your budget must be £250k or more. Surely you can work a bit under £20k into the equation somewhere to keep the Chim.

I know the feeling, I keep getting pressure off the other half amongst other non petolheads to sell the chim for a house deposit.
I had joked when I bought it that it was a house or a car, but at the time before the other half moved in I couldn't afford anything I wanted on a single salary. Now on joint we can but need a deposit. Given the market I don't want to sell the car, and if I do don't know when I'd ever be able to afford another. After a house will no doubt come wedding, kids etc.
Finanicial security is one thing but I'm sure it isn't as much fun!

BTW if you can possibly afford to keep the car then keep it. Chims do not seem to be selling in the North West at the moment. Mine has been up for sale for 3 weeks now and not one enquiry.

Well I've been doing some thinking and I'm going to keep her for a little while yet (the Chim that is). I'm in the process of buying an apartment to let..so going to see how that goes before I progress. Funny, I thought about what Dot and Shirl said and I had a giggle about it, she's a lovely girl looking forward to seeing her on September 13th

Yes. Yes I could have used the money for a deposit, fees, valuations yada yada yada. People just don't understand and unless they are a fellow petrol head they never will so s0d 'em.
