I checked with a supplier of braided hoses and the thread size is 10mm but my car is 3/8 unf, were there 2 options? cheers, John/

M10 X 1.0 is the size (3/8 will go in if it is forced) A@

Should definitely be metric, M10 x 1mm ? Presume you have standard ATE/Ford sliding calipers?

3/8" male will screw into 10mm female but feel loose

10mm male won't screw into 3/8" female without an impact wrench!

I have tried to make the 10mm fittings go into the caliper and the female nut on the copper pipe but there is no way it will fit, I am quite frustrated with this, I am going to try both fittings on a caliper from another tvr tomorrow, cheers, John.

Bleed nipple and hose connection should be same thread, will bleed nipple screw in where the pipe goes?

Hi Mike, the bleed nipple was 10mm but would not screw into the pipe position, we decided to ease a 10mm tap in and hey presto all problems solved. I guess the use of 3/8 unf fittings chewed the thread just enough to cause the problem, thanks to everyone who offered advice, cheers, John.
