I'm very very tempted, but how loud is it really??

Will i be able to live where i live with Neighbours, or will they really hate me, as opposed to just disliking me at the moment ???

Should i, or Shouldnt i ??

The exhaust is Sleeved and no pre-cats at the moment, but i want to set off EVERY car alarm that i pass....

I've not done it yet, my cars currently at the same stage as yours ie/ no pre-cats and cherry bombed backbox.
The other thing thats putting me off is the hastle when it comes to MOT time, getting the cats put back on and taken off again etc. That and the fact the noise may just be that bit too much in the cabin on a long journey.

MOT time is not an issue, i have a very friendly mechanic, lets just say the computer doesnt have very good eyesight , if it gets too noisy i "could" just replace the Y ??

Well i'm going to keep my de-catted Y-piece it only takes 30/40 minutes to change but i think the most of the time the other one will be on

Same as NZ here in Oz I have no Cats (taken them out) and sounds like it should do!!! plus we have no MOT so nobody checks Take them out a upset more people I say

Ok, I'm gonna do it, The main cats going to be ripped out as soon as i can.

Done a fair few mile in it since the Pre cats were "disposed of"

Its pops, but no bangs as such, i also dont think its loud enough at the moment either.

So should i buy a spare with no cat in it or just rip the bugger out of the the one thats in the Y at the moment...

Not sure i can get it done in time for the weekend tunnel run, but will do my damndest fella's

Has anyone come across baffling the volume where the main cat used to be, with a simple plate to stop the gasses from the two cyinder banks creating a vortex, twirly whirlwind type effect thingy?

Sorry, not had my caffine prescription this morning, but hopefully you can see where I'm coming from?

You can put none revsal cones in the manifold, as the gases exit the head and go into the manifold they hit a sharp angle the non-reversal cones create a venturi pulling the gases through.

They dont, i suggest getting back into bed and getting out after a good nights sleep...



If you take out the pre cats you can get a cone fitted that basically stops the hot exhaust gasses been sucked back like this

On Gas <- hot air escapes through the cone

Off gas -< hot air cannot get back past the cone, hence non reversable...

i (in my non technical mind) thought they would stop the hot gasses from re-entering the cat/manifold space as you came of the gas ??

so it stopped the engine from sucking super heated air from getting back into the engine ??

Would there be a benefit of fitting a BIG cone in the Main Cat Space to stop the Hurly swirly/curly whirly effect ?
