Cooling Fan Wiring melted need to re-wire

Finally got around to looking at this.
I got the fuse box out and the connectors to the relay were melted. The fan fuse was also melted in place and the fuse spot welded in. I am having trouble matching the fuse slot to the corresponding spade on the connector block.

I think the easyist way to sort this is to re-wire the whole fan circuit so:

Would the Modwise kit help me. From what I have read this probably would not help on the Chim?? Would be great if I could just wire something like this in rather than build myself.

I guess I can wire the high current circuit to the fans direct to the battery (via the relay)? The relay circuit currently runs off the ignition (so the fans stop when the ignition is switched off). Would it be beneficial to run this direct from the battery so the fans stop when the otter switch cools down?

To minimise the lengths of wire I will need to run to/from the battery box it would be easier to mount the new relay/Fuses in the engine bay. Anyone think of any problems with this??

If I do this I will probably go down the route of 2 relays and 2 fuses (1 for each fan). I can't think of any issues with this although I will have to take advise as to the correct relays to use.

Lastly, due to time I may go down the auto electrician route. If I do anyone know any around the Andover/Newbury/Hungerford area?
