Restarting

Hi,

Until recently when ever I needed to restart the chim even after a long hot journey it would be no problem.

However now it starts first time in the morning then I drive 40 miles to work and if I try to restart it when I get there it fires, revs for about a second and then the revs drop and it just stalls. At the moment I'm having to keep revving it for about 10 seconds and then all is fine again.

Any ideas?

So the starter motor is actually working ok, its just that the engine dies? Doesn't sound like the classic warm start problem to me.

Its funny as there are lots of similar posts on right now, and my advice (after recent experience) is to check the two fuel pump relays, both their connections (ie dirt/corrosion), and possibly replace them both.

IIRC, one will cause the fuel pump not to run, the other one allows the engine to start, but runs lumpy & stalls.
I recall our RO had a similar problem, it wouldn't start, then after giving the relays a clout with a screwdriver handle or similar, it'd go ok....though finally it did give up completely.
