Chimeara not a real TVR?

Recently took my pride and joy chimp500 to a sports car show at Helmingham Hall in Suffolk.Whilst walking round looking at the motors,i noticed 2 P.H.ers walking towards my car,so i moved in closer to get a listen to any comments made.I was dissapointed to hear "Chimearas are crap...shouldn't be here...not a real TVR!" :furious:
Well what are they then?..A fake TVR wannabe?..a triumph dolomite in disguise,or maybe a saab 93?
I waited a while before walking over to the P.H. section,only to discover that the guy had a wedge!
Nice car mate,but how is a wedge a real TVR,and a Chimeara500 not?It wasn't like his wedge was a rare mint one.

I reckon the Chimeara isn't a real TVR any more than a Sieko or Rolox are real watches.

Now, the Chimaera - that's a real TVR.

Seriously though, much as we would like it to be, PH is not one big happy family where we are all friends - it has it's share of asshats with chips on their shoulders just like the real world.

I've got a Wedge and a Chimaera...each a TVR as much as the other, the same as the earliest Trevcar is as much a TVR as the latest Sagaris.

There are some numpties in the world, where's Darwin when you need him most?

Bet you dont get Porker owners saying the 356 isnt a proper Porsche when they run a 914...

No. But you get the occasional twit who wants to believe only 911s are Porsches. Cars which come in for particular stick are "VW" Cayennes, Boxsters, and "Audi" 924s.

Of course the Chimaera is a proper TVR.

Sound like a couple of wers that believe their own bull if you ask me. They are probably legends at the bar of their local, quoting performance figures for GT3's, Lambo's and the like. I would also bet that they had something like a Micra "S" waiting for them in the car park......or maybe they got the bus?? I adore my Chim, and long may they continue to be one of the most affordable and fun cars on the road!!

The 356 is essential a dressed up Beetle chassis too, hence the choice of Porsche models...

Crisp500 were the person I heard in Halfrauds asking if they sold TVR badges? sure you haven't just stuck them on a car and pretended to be a Chim? (only joking)

Ignore the negative comments, your car does exactly what it says on the tin...or GRP in this case!

AAaah.. but perhaps you should have picked a 924 or 912, rather than a Karman bodied creation assembled from VW parts on the VW Production line

Hmm what a couple of £$%^"!£( what they are forgetting is that the Wedge was almost the death of TVR and if it wasn't for the Griff and Chim TVR may be making shoe boxes on wheels with a 1.1 lean burn city freindly engine owned by some Korean car company.

Your TVR is more TVR than the current crop! Infact it has to be the all time Classic TVR!

If it wasn't for the Chimaera, TVR wouldn't be here today. The Chimaera IS TVR.

I personally have no interest or respect whatsoever for pre-Griffith TVR's. I didn't even know TVR existed until the Griffith came along!
