I have one of these, doesn’t obscure the other controls too much when you have the phone in the holder.

These fit great, a little too close to the gear stick but it's as good as can be. Very useful if you daily the car or drive long distance. https://www.joyingauto.eu/7-inch-single-din-car-st...

This is an old Pioneer AVIC-X1, but a modern equivalent would be a reasonable solution

Interested to see a photo of that fitted to a Chim if you have one?

I opted to rest the phone with maps running on the handbrake section. It did not go well.....

I did that until I bought a bluetooth head unit for around £100, and a window sucker-mounted phone holder for around a fiver, and use Waze on my phone.
Prefer this set up because the screen I'm looking at for the map (my phone) is higher in my vision so I can keep a better eye on the road. I feel like I'd be looking down too much if it were much lower.
That's just me, you do you...

I too looked at head units with screens for navigation. I too decided that it was too low to view and close when gear changing. I opted for this phone mount. It's low enough not to impede my view but only a glance down for direction.

I bought direct from AliExpress where they're much cheaper. I don't leave it on the dash permanently so it doesn't imprint the dash top. I have broken one by expanding the clip too wide when it was sub zero outside but cheap enough to have a spare, some of which I've lost to fellow Chimaera Owners. As for a head unit I bought a Pioneer MVH-X580DAB DAB/MP3/Bluetooth unit that looks relatively plain and allows me to stream music.

I’m looking to upgrade the stereo on my T350 to something more modern with nav capability.

I’ve been looking at pioneer systems with the flip out front, but not sure about the look.

Also been looking at the Kramer systems from JLR classic, however pricey…..

The Joyingauto looks decent, at a good price too.

Do you have a pic of your system fitted….?
Could you also measure the unit from cage to facia to give me an idea of clearance to the gearstick…..?

Many thanks if you can oblige.

I have one of these - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004735711895.h... It isn't a perfect fit, but it works well and does all the carplay/android auto stuff you would need.

I am intending on 3d printing a proper surround for it that will make it fit better, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think this is on offer at the mo if it's the SPH-20DAB, I can't open links to Halfords here, £112.49 on hotukdeals

Google maps with a £15 phone windscreen mount is the cheapest and easiest.

Just wondering what the sound quality is like? I can't see a spec for output in the Halfrauds link?

I use a Quadlock case on my phone and various adaptors for car, bike, and desk. You can get a wireless charger kit with it too. Not the cheapest but very good quality and great for convenience. I find I always revert to Google maps on my phone for sat nav as it just seems to be the best!
