Budget around £400-£500 in parts for cam, followers and new timing gear (depending whether you go for a vernier drive gear or not) and about a day's labour. It would typically cost about £1000 to have it done professionally.
Might as well have the rockers done since you're most of the way there...
Why go for the standard cam - why not go for something a little more interesting..?

Hows the new cam Pods ??
Absolutely marvelous.
Writing something up for Ted at the moment; just need to get over to Charlie at SRR to do the "after" figures.
Changed the character of the car... mate of mine followed me recently and said "sounds like a bloody NASCAR"...

Thanks, have a better idea of whats involved now. Took it to a mechanic friend of mine, apart from a small loss of power (probably no more than 5%) he agreed that the current cam is good for a while yet. No ominous noises or anything.
Good to know that they can be DIY'd though, even though its a fair bit of work it doesn't seem like a massive job.
