The backlight wasn't working on my rev counter so I got the dash top off enough by undoing the two LHS bolts to change the bulb. Removed old bulb which looked blown, put new one in holder and put back in the rev counter. When I tried the sidelights, there was still no rev counter backlight. Pulled light / holder back out and checked again and bulb lights up OK, but when it is put into the back of the rev counter no light comes through to the dial.

Does anybody have a photo of the back of rev counter (94 chim)- I can't see what is there without removing the third bolt and dash top completely which looks a pig of job. Is there any chance that the bulb I am changing is in a blanked hole in the rev counter and that the light should be provided by another bulb which has also blown?

Just found a post confirming that rev counters do have two bulbs - still doesn't explain why I can't get any light from one though.
