Tiv wouldn't start and then she did?? Fuel pump issue??

Hi All,

Just put some fuel in and then when I go to turn on, the fuel pump didn't make a sound and the car didn't turn over. All lights on but no-one at home!!

Sounds a bit like the immobiliser??

So i try it a few times and still nothing!

I remove and replace the fuel pump fuse (it was OK) and check \ reseat the relays (hanging off the ECU)and then she fires up fine!.

Is this coincidence about the fuse \ relays, as I assume if it was a dodgy connection \ relay, the engine would still turn over wouldn't it??

New relays are £6 each.

log on to the Bosch website at www.boschautoparts.co.uk/ and click 'service locator', then enter your postcode, it gives you a list of local suppliers.

The part number for both is Bosch 0332014112

Fuel pump *and* starter both playing up seems to point to the immobiliser. If it was only the fuel pump relay then the engine would have turned over OK.

Cheers POD and V8S, I am going to have a chat with the guy who fitted my CAT1 system a year ago. I will also get some new relays for spares!!
