Pre cats

Right then, I'm doing one side of the manifolds tomorrow, replacing the gasket on the passenger side.

I'll probably do the other side in a few weeks when I have more time.

So, this precat business - can I just wrap a towel around my nose and mouth, and poke the precat out with a big stick? Or do I have to put any cones and stuff in there?

You dont have to put non reversal cones in there,but it helps.My last griff had no cones,and it was still an improvement.Tomorrow the pre-cats come out on my present griff,again,i wont be fitting the cones.My philosophy is this,i'd rather spend the money on the proper de-cat manifolds,as no matter what you do to the originals,theyre still pants,compared to the proper job.You'll smooth out the bottom end,and improve the acoustics,for just the price of some new gaskets by just removing the pre-cats
