Don't get your zip caught in the boot!

Got to work today, boot wouldn't open.
Decided on usual 'Step 2 - undocumented feature' - cable came off in my hand!
Oh dear . . .
Cut hole to access lock (!!!!) and still couldn't open mechanism.
Eventually wiggled boot lid enough to open the damn thing. Guess what?
The zip on my work bag had wedged in the lock so that it wouldn't open, hence why pulling the cable with a good yank it came away (only secured with plastic cable tie ) .

Now 'restoring' GRP. . .

Thank God it didn;t start pouring down. Laugh, as I could hear my phone merrily ringing away in the boot . . .
Moral of the story, watch your zip doesn;t get trapped!!!

You've got me worried now. I'm not familiar with the 'step 2... undocumented feature' to access the boot if the electrics/lock fail.

I got a mental picture of you standing there with the zip of you flies caught in the boot wondering what the hell to do next. Kecks off and hit the release button or try and attract the attention of a passer by.
If it could happen it would happen to me.

I've been there recently (no zip involved) and had to go straight to step 3 without knowledge of step 2. This has intreaged me too. Would you mind doing same for me Bob?
