Front Suspension size (between eye)

I'm no expert so need some advise

Is there a standard distance for front shocks (eg from top eye to bottom)? if so what is it?

Im replacing both front shocks due to a leaky one. i have been offered a decent pair (that i am informed are for a Chim/Grif) which are 370mm (37cm) between eyes. does this sound about right? i dont want to buy them to find out they are totally wrong.

For your info, if it makes any difference my car is a 94 4L

Ground clearance should be about 10cm when correct (ground - chassis).

Closed centres on gaz are about 300 but they are the adjustable ones, so if your shocks are Bilstein, probably about the right length.

I don't know, but if all else fails you could undo the two bolts holding one of your existing dampers on, and find the answer for yourself?

You make a valid point V8 but time is money, its quicker for me to post a question which someone might be able to answer than mess around in the dark or rain for 1+ hour trying to find out whats on mine. i need to order them ASAP or miss out...and between now and next Tuesday i have no time to take off the front suspension just to check as im away all weekend.
You got to see my point for posting! All else fails i will be sat under the front weel arch though!

well of course you don't actually have to strip the suspension.. just jack the car (kate moss references are everywhere lol) and get the damper at it's maximum exta

I measured 362mm eye to eye, aprox 370mm center to center from a couple of fronts I have off a Chim.
