Hi guys, I bought the 1995 Chimaera with the diff noise and oil pressure that dropped on acceleration.
Have changed engine and diff oil, Oil pressure now 50psi at steady 2000rpm no loss during acceleration 30+psi on tickover. Level originally 6mm above minimum mark.
Unfortunately diff is still noisy which is probably more annoying than serious, however does anyone know the cost and source of a replacement?
By the way I purchased the car for a very low price.

According to the hitory with my car ('96 Chimp) it had a s/h diff fitted earlier this year - £450 + labour.

Bell Hill garage (nr. Bath) will quote around £450 for a sub 10k miles diff. I've had a similar quote for refurb of existing one so this seems about the level. At least 1/2 day labour for out and in, plus replace bushes while you're there, about £70 for the three.

Mine has a lot of backlash (so I'm told) and is a bit klonky, but liveable with for now.
