Should I be worried ??

Hi all,
I've just took my 93 4.0L Chimaera out for a spin, and whilst pulling away from traffic lights (at normal speed) and going up through the gears I found that at 40mphish she "stuttered" for a split second. It felt as if I had quickly put my foot on the brake. I decided at this point to drive home and put her in the garage and ask you guys as I know there are some really helpful people out there.
I'm no mechanic but I'm hoping that it was just fuel starvation? I did clean the stepper motor in May and have done 1000 miles max since then. She was also serviced in March.
Does anyone have any ideas please, I have my Bible at the ready! (Steve Heaths that is)

Take it for a good blast and see if it needs a blow out...1000 miles since may????

Sounds like it could be ignition-related. Check the HT leads, dizzy etc etc...

Sounds like fuel starvation to me. My first impulse would be those pesky fuel pump relays.....

No. If it did that just the once, it's a glitch - mine amuses me with that kind of behaviour all the time! Of course, it could be just about anything fuel or ignition related (or generally electrical for that matter), but unless it's doing it a lot, keep driving it!

Obviously, if it continues, check the plugs, extenders, plug leads, distributor, distributor cap, rotor arm, coil, ignition amplifier, road speed sensor, coolant sensor, throttle potentiometer, stepper motor (and housing!), airflow mass meter, ECU (and main relay), fuel pump (and relay), carbon cannister and all the wiring connecting it all together, PLUS all the other things I've missed.
