As the title says, really. I had the ModWise kit fitted by my garage, as I don't like getting my "paper-pusher's" hands all oily.

In combination with Philips VisionPlus bulbs, the difference the kit makes is very impressive. I went for a drive at 10pm last night to compare, and for the first time, actually saw most of the badgers I was about to hit...

Seriously, for about £50 (if you fit it yourself), or in my case £80 all-in, this is a very worthwhile mod

It's the old deers I worry about, particularly when they persist in aimlessly wandering around the country lanes at night and I wouldn't want one of them rearranging Trev's bonnet

When I bought the Chime in Feb one of the first things i did was to fit the kit. It made a huge difference, a car like the Chim deserves that! Now you will not need the force to be with you for a roam in the country lanes.

Website is

and he is a member on here so you can e-mail him as well rather than phoning all that way in the middle of the night.

Modwise is out of operation till 7th of Jan for a Christmas break. However, I badly need some brighter lights as my daily hack is going to be out on loan for a few weeks. I have all the bits needed and understand what needs to be done but Im a little uneasy about hacking into my P&J without sapeaking to anyone who has done if before. Could anyone PM me a brief description of what they did to do the mod? Just in case I have missed anything. I dont want to step on Davids toes by putting all the information on here as I know he is a nice guy and is entitled to a break over christmas like anyone else.

Many Thanks

B.

If you're desperate to improve your lights in the meantime a mod which will still be vaild with the brighter lights kit are a pair of Halfrauds 'Super Brilliance' lights.
They claim to be up to 50% brighter and although the improvement I saw was less than that I definitely saw an improvement(say 30%.
They often do a 2 for 1 offer as well.

Yep, got some +80% bulbs. I noticed that they were a lot brighter for week or so, then they dimmed off a bit to the point where even with these bulbs, the lights are noticable less bright than most other cars. I think that they need that extra 1volt from the kit to achieve their potential.

Stuart, it's top down weather here as well... dry, sunny, not sure how cold but the ice warning light was on red all day yesterday.

All you need to do is remove the drivers side lights(dip and main) from the current draw from the passengers circuit, they then increase in voltage. So the original wiring activates the new relays fitted in the inner wing, these get there new supply from the starter motor. On full beam you will gain 100 watts(4x25) over standard, then fit the 50% jobbies and thats as good as you can get, unless you go HID, i will start on that subject again !
To add 4x25 on a Griff.

Pretty much what I was planning, although slightly different due to what stuff I have lying around. Thanks very much. Will speak in the summer when I will want to buy a cooling kit.
