Hi, on Tuesday evening while out for a drive my car cut out and wouldn’t re start, turning over but no attempt to fire up, had to get recovered home, the fuel pump isn’t priming, I’ve checked the connections and there is no power going to it, I checked both fuel pump relays, one of which was dead, however when I opened it up and manually pressed it the fuel pump primed, but still won’t start, I have ordered a new relay but was wondering if it may be an immobiliser problem, it’s a 94 car and I’m not sure of the make of the immobiliser but I think it’s original, any advice or if someone could pm me how to bypass the immobiliser I’d be very grateful, thanks, phil.

There is an intertia cut off switch, it might be worth checking that in case it has been activated going over a bump. If you unscrew the pocket on the bottom of the passenger side lower dash it's tucked in there. I think the button pops out when activated and pushing it in resets it.

If you press the relay manually and it runs this kind of rules out the immobiliser and inertia switch as I'm pretty sure they are after the relay output so to speak.
I'd pop a test lamp/multineter on the relay coil terminals to see if it has voltage.
You can swap the relays for test purposes but I cannot remember if the ecu will run the pump with a defective main relay.

I’d have thought if there was a problem with the immobiliser or intertia switch the relay wouldn’t be activated, by pressing it are you not manually activating it?

The only accurate diagrams I have seen don't have the relay coil interrupted, only the output to pump.

So there is no voltage at the relay terminal, could this be an earthing issue?

Which terminal?
Assuming coil, move the ground test lead to battery negative to see if anything changes.

Did you test the ECU relay whilst you were down there? The fuel pump relay won't work without the ECU powered up and if you jump the fuel pump relay you still won't have injectors ect.

Just re-read the thread. Jump both relays so that you know that the ECU and fuel pump are both running and then try to start with the key, if it doesn't start then something else is dead. Check for spark, stick a noid light in an injector. Get a rovergauge cable thumbup

There's no trigger power or no main power? Which relays?

Also just noticed the interior light delay relay ( Ford one) is quite warm, could this be related?

There should be 2 silver Bosch relays next to each other, they may be brown if they have been changed before.
Courtesy relay should not affect it but you can remove that as it can drain the battery, obviously the light will only work on its switch then but a simple wiring mod can get it working all be it not on a timer.

Yes, this is an item that is sometimes a fault, but only that it causes a battery drain. It has no effect on starting, other than possible weakening the battery.
