chim clutch life ?

as a new member and potential new chim owner i was wondering if any members could help me gauge what the average clutch life is, obviously it will depend on how and where it`s driven (how much town driving etc) but i am hoping to get enough answers to be able to make an educated guess when looking at cars which have no record of it having been changed.

I replaced mine at circa 30k ,by that time i'd probably done around 25 track days plus vigorous road use.
Clutches in less (ab)used cars may last longer .

Don't get too hung up on Chim clutch life - in normal use its entirely durable, instead focus your concerns elsewhere - chassis, service history, cooling system, bodywork etc.

Agreed. Clutch life depends very much on usage but even if it needs replacement it's not the end of the world. Slip the clutch in any car with this much power and it will soon be toast. Engage smoothly before hitting the gas and it should last a long time.

Agree with the above, but for info I changed mine at 50K. Its a relatively simple job to do.

thanks to those who have replied so far, about 50k seems average, obviously i will be deciding on general condition and service history etc in the first instance but i wanted to get an idea just to avoid a big bill soon after purchase as i have been quoted about £700, i work in a garage so could get it done on a saturday afternoon i suppose by one of the techs even so would still be around £400 with parts, i am fully armed with "THE BIBLE" and am reading/re-searching as much as possible including the pistonheads forums ofcoarse !
