Knock the caps off wil you, I don't know what a realistic price is for it but I am guessing that it's a lot more than £7K

What other problems have you had with it that's made you so cheesed off?

Ahem. Can I repeat rushdriver's question, what else has gone wrong with the car to make you hate it?

never got to use it in the summer, now just sitting wasting money, bought it on a whim one afternoon as you do. i dont think it has any other probs that i'm aware of anyway , its got a remote alarm/immobiliser thing that really pisses me off , but it seemed to drive ok when i did get it for a blast.

Good god that car belongs on the scrapheap. Some people might say that repairs like that would only take a few hours, but they'd be madmen! MADMEN I TELLS YA

Lower wishbone bush - any mechanic can fix that. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know how its done, but I do know its easy.

The flexy brake pipe is easy to fix. Just buy a new one, get a mate to help bleed the system, connect it up and refill the system. Or just buy 4 braided steel pipes, and upgrade the thing while you're at it. Might as well!

The handbrake is probably just as simple to fix, and could be as easy as the cable on that side getting a bit slack. The arrangement IIRC is only like a cycle brake cable!

As for the horn not working, first thing is to stick a 12V battery across the horn (its near the radiator at the front). If it beeps, then its either a fuse, a bad connection, or a dodgy horn button on the wheel.

You can't treat these cars like a VW Golf. They need constant care and attention. If something squeaks, get it looked at - don't hang around and hope it goes away.

regarding history ; supplying dealer nigel mansell sport cars , 2 stamps in book with them at ;1240 and 5669, then brooklands tvr at 11055 ,15818,22169, 27966,39651,44752, then new street motors in aylesbury at 49217,56374,65623, after that there are some service reciepts at a local garage ,one for 72k service plus some other work . I also have a bill for £1660 for head gaskets done at 72k at the same garage . The guy i got it off paid £12395 for the car at 68k on the 2/7/01 he spent a few grand on it , then got banned from driving for 2 yrs and it stood still for about 18mnths then i got it .

Value? Check the PH classifieds for value of 1994 Chims then deduct a bit as yours is an MOT failure,you could get quite a shock

No MOT tends to hammer TVR prices down IMHO

I would have thought that the MOT garage would be able to fix it for a couple of hundred quid - you could get the wishbone yourself, and get them to fit it - the rest of the items are pretty basic.

Then you would get the going rate for the car.
