Hi guys.

Can I ask what the thought is about changing to full vacuum to the distributor vacuum advance. I have been reading lots of posts on the subject but it’s all quite old now. Is this still the thing to do??

I don’t know about it being ‘the thing to do’, but I did it.
I also checked the timing to ensure it was running by at 8 degrees BTDC with no vacuum attached.
With vacuum, it gets up to around 20 degrees BTDC at idle.
I noticed it being slightly more ready to pull from low revs, and whilst my engine didn’t shunt before this, it certainly doesn’t now.
I swap it back to ported signal for MOT day

No downsides really, my car certainly ran better lower down the rev range.
If you have read the god damn shunt is killing me thread it should tell you all you need to know.
