Replacing dials/guages on a Mk1?
Discussion
Mines 93 Mk1 400. I'm looking at giving the interior some tlc.
The dash and the dials specifically, I would like to go for the white with silver bezel that is on the later cars.
Whatbare my options here? Motorclan seem to have a mismatch of dials in stock, but wondering if "later" dials will fit earlier cars or if I'm stuck with a specific set?

Oh boy... the black rimmed ETB gauges are actually a slightly larger diameter than all the later ones (of course they are). This makes replacements very difficult, as well as getting a replacement dash panel which are unavailable in a larger size, so you need to refurb your existing one.
If you really want to do this, you'd probably need to entirely swap to a later car's setup, dashboard, gauges, and all. That said, as the previous poster mentioned, a lot of the gauge senders are incompatible, or there will be a conflict elsewhere (e.g. speedo sensor for the LT77 vs T5 gearbox).
It's probably best just to remove your existing gauges and paint the bezels or something, maybe a local machine shop can turn up some nice new metal bezels for you.
