My Dad "keithskip" has a 92 Griff, and asked a similar question:

Hope this helps!

glad you have your new baby, hope all is well! run mine on optimax all the time and it sounds and goes like a dream. would not use anything else. have in the past and optimax in my view is defo the best one. shes now on 87000 miles and has run better since using optimax. P.S are you at the herts beds meet this sunday?

Mine runs much better with Optimax. Smoother and a wee bit faster.

My 92 Griff 4.0 ate nothing but unleaded for years and seemed perfectly happy. Doubtless higher octane could have squeezed a tenth or two but it didn't seem worth the extra. Petrol's taxed enough as it is!

(I did use Super for days like Duxford though, when I knew it was going to be pushed harder than usual)

If your 92 4litre won't run on Optimax I've knackered the Chimaera... get it in there
