Hi everybody,

looking for an alternator bracket to fit my 1998 serpentine chimaera, wondering if anyone has one going spare or knows someone that might as mine has gone walkabouts during my body off resto and engine rebuild. Pics attached to show what I'm on about.

Cheers, Ben

Is it broken, or just scruffy?
It's a fairly solid chunk of metal

I went on a goose chase for this a couple of months ago, with folks on the RV8 pages telling me it was p38 or classic serp. It was neither. All LR alt brackets are stamped with a code and the TVR serp isnt, which leads me to believe TVR had it cast. Best way to double check probably this photo showing specific webbing and ac mount tab lengths. I ended up not requiring it. Keep us posted. (photo from another ph post).

Good info. Comparing your photo to the eBay one, the three holes close together are spaced differently - more like a flat isosceles on the eBay but an equilateral on the TVR casting.

Looks like your private message/email function isn't turned on or wont allow me to message you direct, have you got one you are willing to sell? if so could you send some pictures of it to me so i can just double check its what im after, thanks.

Thanks to everyone else that has responded too, i have been searching ebay and a few TVR breakers to no avail. Also contacted V8 developments that sorted all the machining work for me to see if they had one but unfortunately not, seems its TVR specific. Its the last piece of the puzzle before i can start it and take it for the first MOT in 11 years.

As an observation, I know there appears to be multiple ways of putting the belt on but I thought TVR did it with the belt coming down from the alternator, under the water pump and back up to the blank wheel thing?
Though I’ve stopped using that bit on mine.

That's the 'correct' way to do it.
The blank wheel thing behind the swirl pot on your car is the PAS pump on mine.
