Cam Replacement

Just so i dont get a shock (preparing for worse case scenario!!!) does anyone have a rough idea how much it will cost to replace a cam...

You should see a little change from £1500 (as a ball park figure).

If you have a proper job done, you may as well replace the rockers, followers etc...

No point in going for a boring replacement... speak to TVR Power - Dom will point you in the right direction.

is that 1.5k doing the rockers as well or just cam???....oh by the way thats erm...cheap!!!

Source the rockers in the right place and you'll save a LOT of money. Go for solid steel, rather than the ally / steel tips as well.

1.5k is realistic.. IMO.

mines up for replacement,how can you tell that yours is going too,namely is it noise or performance or both?

Just had mine done,parts were £400 give or take and Ian at Middlewich fitted it for £300.

I am not sure if my cam has gone...i am just trying to prepare for the worst case!!!

Hopefully it will just be something easy!!!

I would have thought about £500 in parts and a day's labour, adds up to roughly a grand at typical labour rates. Could be a couple of hundred quid less than that if you go for a stock cam that doesn't need a vernier pulley.

4.5 has a vernier pulley on it as standard...

Cams pretty much cost the same, regardless of spec.

If you're going to replace it, you might as well pay a little bit more and get a vernier set.

After looking through your price list, Podie, i think i will go for the vernier...

Got a few other things lined up for it as well so its just a case of prioritising!!!
