Bonnet badge metallurgy

Does anyone know what the bonnet "TVR" and rear "Chimaera" badges are made from?

I want to colour mine black and trying to find out what the options are...

Thinking paint or powder coating might get damaged and flake due to exposed position, but anodising appears to work only on aluminium (correct me if I'm wrong!) - any other ideas folks?

Assume the bonnet at least will suffer road rash, so paint/wraps etc will be damaged?

Hence thought anodising, but wrong material apparently... I've seen people with black versions before - anyone here got one, and tell how they achieved it?
