Trouble shooting a speedometer that is intermittently working. 1993 Chim 430 with GKN diff and speedometer sensor on the diff nose above the prop. ETB black bezel speedometer, white face with the little digital odometer.

The sensor gap appears to be ok, nothing touching. It's wires are soldered direct and the dashboard connector has been cleaned recently. I have the dashboard off and get 1080 ohms between grey and black (earth), which seems reasonable and the same as a spare new ETB sensor.
I've tried feeding the powered up (12v) speedometer with 100hz to 1000hz sine and square wave, 0.5v up to 4v P-P, using one of the cheap FG200 Function Signal Generators but get no response from the speedo. I've carefully dismantled it and resoldered any dodgy looking pins on the little PCB but still nada.

Thoughts much appreciated on anything else worth trying.

If anyone has one of these early speedo's for sale (or loan to troubleshoot mine) then I'd be most keen to acquire it.

Thanks, Steve
