I`ve not long bought a T reg chimaera with 8k on the clock. A few stone chips under the car have made the powder coating peel off, hence allowing it to rust.
Just wondered what is the best thing to paint the chassis with and how to go about it.

Remove any loose rust and paint, then paint it with Hammerite no 1 (brown stuff), followed a few days later with a further coat of Hammerite (if you've got a silver chassis like mine - the smooth silver hammerite matches well).

Thanks I shall give that ago. Didn`t know if it may be worth while painting it with some sort of stone chip paint so it doesn`t happen again!
Any ideas?

Original coating is powder coating and once chipped moisture gets in. Hammerite should be nearly as good. Usual follow-up is to waxoil it annually. It's a common occurance to get chips just behind the wheel. I don't think there's much you can do to stop it though.

ok thanks very much for your help. I`m new to this game, as its the first TVR i`ve owned. I`m used to working on `normal` cars but didn`t know if there was a better way of rust prevention!
Hopefully it will keep it as rust free as possible!
Thanks
