Can anyone help?

I have searched through the posts but can't find one that explains exactly where the the thermostat is on a 4.0l Chim. Can anyone assist this mechanical thicko and describe it so that I can't possible unbolt the wrong bit? Any tips for removal?

I strongly suspect the thermostat is stuck shut and want to remove it to test (boiling over, Rad, hoses and heater stone cold). Your help approciated

Find the big cylindrical swirl tank in front of the engine. Follow the top hose back to the engine. It connects to the front of the thermostat housing, which is bolted to the front of the inlet manifold high up at the front of the engine, central. The thermostat is clamped between the manifold and the thermostat housing.

Hope this makes sense!
