new purchase & new to the forum

Hi Im new to this forum, just bought myself an absolutely pristine 96 plate 4.0hc in silver, so wanted to introduce myself, im sure im probably a rare breed whos bought one going into winter, but im sure the price reflected this.
Ive been reading this site for a while now and eventually took the plunge so hope to get involved in this section now im a proud owner.

Great cars and owners. Lots of useful tips and info. on the forum. Drive it and enjoy it (says he who doesn't drive his as much as he should). There aren't many cars these days that make you just want to take them out for the sake of it.

I'm coming into the first winter with mine, but I'm told roof off on a crisp winter morning is the way forward - after all, you've got a 4L heater in front of you!

Enjoy, but go easy with the right foot - particularly in the wet - until you are used to it, then be careful anyway! Plenty of good advice on here - and bar talk - read it and make your own mind up

You don't need sun or warmth to have that top down In fact, I've driven mine topless through pouring rain, all because I was too lazy to stop and put the roof on

Welcome, welcome! Agree with PoD, above 70ish mph it has to really be raining pets to get you wet with the roof down as long as you have the windows up! And with the V8 heat is never a problem! Crisp winter days are amazing in the Chimaera!

I have it as a 2nd car so not likely to take it out in the wet much, or winter unless the weathers ok.
I find myself looking at the 5 day forecast all the time praying its gonna be ok to take the car out.
Im a bit of a ritual polisher though so when the weathers ok its a case of making myself drive it rather than cleaning it

Hi and welcome, I bought a 4.0 Chimaera last month, the grin factor is fantastic. I have had a 350 wedge for 18 months and learnt my lesson. Doing my senile racer impression I tried to hang the back out coming off a junction, unfortunately I couldn't catch it and did a 180 no contact made with anything, but a round of applause from some onlookers. I ended up perfectly parallel parked facing the wrong way outside of Mc Donalds, so I got out and went in for a burger, cool or what?

Welcome along. Only been a chim owner myself for a few months and it just gets better the more I get used to it. You can certainly drive round in cold weather with no fear of getting the slightest bit nippy, so long as its not hacking it down the roof comes off!
