I am planning on using this stuff on my roof but can anyone tell me if it will affect my rubber seals and the rubber layer under the mohair?

AFAIK it doesn't damage the seals, but then you shouldn't be splashing it around either - keep it on the mohairy bits or you could damage the paintwork.
