Hi, just got cover from Manning on 4.0 Chimaera. I am 56 years young,limited mileage 5000 pa plus 30 year old son on cover, slight discount for second policy I also have a 350i insured with them, Cost £390 pa. Give them a try!

Bought my Chimaera June this year and after a long search found Norton Insurance by far the better service. I am 48 and their insurance does not affect my other insurance at all so it is completely independent. They quoted me £330 fully comp.Limited to 5000 miles. I got quoted just under £1000 by elephant.co.uk, which I thought was pretty reasonable.

I'm 24.

But my cunning plan is to pay monthly and then cancel halfway through the policy one I'm 25 and then go with Mannings, or similar.

These guys sorted me out:
28, full no claims, 6000 miles pa, kept on drive way, 6 points, SW17, £1188. Apparently, the problem is not the points, but the postcode...

Privilege did mine for £420, 2nd car with full NCD, 30, clean licence but one claim. Car not garaged but low risk postcode though

I always found Mannings good. Around £550 at 25 on my old chimaera.

oh, and you may want to try classic line and Sunninghill as well. The latter particularly if you want to track the car

I wouldnt use a non-specialist insurer unless I fell outside of their criteria (age, period licence held etc) as I generally find them to be more helpful and cheaper.

I'm in the process of renewing my insurance on the Chimeara and got a reasonable quote from Elephant, but i was a little concerned with their policy details where it sounded like you must use a repairer of their choice. I asked for details of who they approve locally for glass fibre repairs.

I got an Email back saying that their new policy was NOT to insure glass fibre bodied cars (even though they still list TVR, Lotus, etc on their website..) and that they could no longer offer me cover.

It all sounded very strange to me. I can PM a copy of the reply to anybody interested.
