My switch has gone up the creak ,my local dealership Keridges , has a six week back order for a replacement switch ? can I ? use a Rover Unit ?
I have read that you can get an adjustable Otter switch if so where can I get one ?
I temporary fitted a fan overide switch , but tend to forget to switch on and get a little hot in traffic .

You can get a replacement otter switch from Leven Technology. They sell them as part of a "cooler running" pack. There have been threads on here before which recommend that you go for a switch which activates at a lower temp than the Land Rover's.

Fitting a lower temperature otter switch on its own is not always a good idea. With our cooler running kit we supply a thermostat which has a lower opening temperature. The thermostat and otter switch are matched to one another.

I have checked with James at Kerridges and it is true that the factory are back ordered otter switches.

However, he has 3 of our cool running kits in stock.

Do you supply one suitable to go in the *bottom* hose? That would work better all round, and remove the need for the stat and the otter switch to be 'matched'.

The Rover ones switch at too high a temperature.

I ordered one from team central couple of years back( now team-proactive ) tenner for standard, 14 for uprated ( 10deg lower cut in ) ! I got the uprated one, but in the summer, fans were on most the time. Although, standard one cuts in about 1/2 degree before boil over :/

I know I keep wittering on about it but if TVR will keep fitting the otter switch in the wrong place, yes it will come on when you don't need it and stay off when you do! The right answer is an otter switch in the bottom hose, and (if you want to do a *really* good job) make it an adjustable one and add a mod-wise two stage controller.

Cheers,
