Thanks Ozren,

I just tried that and it’s not listed, unless I’m doing it wrong.

I know if I ring TMS they give me a price, I just wondered if anyone else had changed theirs recently.

Had a broken one replaced (on insurance) a couple of years ago and was told it cost £600 fitted.

If it is damaged you may want to try your car insurrance, it could be the cheaper option.

If it isn't broken you may aswell break it as the claim on your insurance will not affect your NCB and then it is only £50 contribution.

Just don't go to mad !

I tried to get hold of a Chimaera screen a few month ago because the edges were going milky.Unfortunately they are very thin on the ground, so I ended up keeping mine. Its not that bad.I would assume the same applies to the griff.

I've just had one, it was about £450. Offord (who contracted it out for me) said that the Norwich Union have been known to be arsey about paying up as they seem to think they can get them fitted for £180.

Give your local dealer a call, ask who they use for fitting and then call them.

That's normal, and more likely than not a new screen will soon go the same way. There's a small risk of accidental damage to the car, new screen not fitting, and just general hassle getting the screen replaced - IMO not worth it unless your is cracked or damaged.

As the milkiness is caused by water getting in between the laminations, is it not possible to seal the edge somehow before the glass is put in?

My Chimaera is in having a new windscreen fitted today. I initially wanted to get it done on insurance by Castle TVR (they quoted £394) but Direct Line stated I have to use RAC Windscreens... I wasn't happy with this, but spoke to my local branch and they forwarded me onto another local branch that used to do the screens for the TVR Centre.

They said it takes approx 2-3 hours to remove the original screen and then another couple to fit the new one... Apparently it's a bit of a pig to do, but the bloke seemed pretty knowledgable so I booked it in. Total cost £50!

I ordered the screen on the first week of September though and they only received it last week! Apparently there's quite a waiting list...

Hi there. We here at TMS can supply and fit a screen for £365.43 including VAT. We would need the car for a whole day to be sure of a good seal and we even have a good amount of stock for immediate fittment. The TVR part no. is U0356.

Please contact Christopher Reed for fitting.
