Replacing ball joints

Need to replace the front ball joints on the Chim soon to get her through the MOT....

Just looking on tvrgear.com, aswell as the upper and lower ball joints, do I also need the "ball joint shim" and the "Top Fr.ball joint spacer asy" for the job?

No you don't need them, just put the ones that you take out back in the same position.

Also mark the position of the top ball joints in to the top wishbone before you start. This enables you to put the camber back to where it was (idealy you need to have it checked).

You might need the shim as the ball joiunt manufacture has changed and some replacements are not compatible with the old size shims.

Cheers chaps, I'll get ordering. Any problems I'm likely to come across during fitting?

I'll consult the bible when I get back to Wales before anyone points me toward it!!

Also I presume it's one shim per joint?

Which side of the joint the shim goes is very very important as this defines the castor angle.
