No Accelerator its just Stopped pls Help

Please help drove home last night dropped of a friend did a U turn with accelerator working then the accelerator just stopped like a broken cable but its not , press the pedal and the linkage moves but no revs I had to crawl home on tick over Whats the problem please ?? were do I start

Well if it just ticks over then I'd say something isn't opening the butterfly on the edge of the plenum..? if the Air Meter wasn't working but the butterfly was opening you'd get a very lean mixture breifly befor a stall.

Sounds like a dodgy connection to the air flow meter. While you're looking at that it's worth double checking that you are actually getting movement at the throttle, if somebody had added a spring at the throttle pedal you might be feeling resistance from that rather than the throttle cable.

Surely though Pete if the AirFlow meter was not working, the actual air intake would increase with the throttle opening, but the meter wouldn't meter the fuel so the car would just stall and die as the mixture thinned on depressing the pedal, it wouldn't just stay at idle..?

Thanks Guys for jumping on this , it just idles starts fine , If I move the throtle link by hand still nothing, today driving it I though the tick over was high and was planning to clean the stepper motor , ticking over at about 1100 rpm luck as I would not have got home ??

I would have said so too, but I had very similar symptoms earlier in the year which magically went away when I reseated the AFM connector. The engine would idle as normal, and I could gradually ease the revs up if I opened the throttle really really slowly, but if I just opened the throttle as normal the revs didn't change at all. It would sit idling at 1000 rpm at full throttle full boost. Sometimes it would come back to normal briefly and then go again, which was a bit entertaining with 400 lb-ft suddenly appearing in a low gear!

I am letting it cool right down in the garage as it ws pretty hot here today so I will re test in an Hour and re post

Correct the throttle spindle has a fork on it and it had come loose and moved of the link and therefore not moving the butterfly, I think a bolt has come out could anyone post a picture of there throttle linkage near the cable the bible is not that clear as this is were the nut and bolt have come loose from (an anodized plate looks the likely spot.
