Securing metal brackets to the rear of the radio panel

Does anybody know which is the best adhesive to use to stick the small brackets that hold the warning lights and switching gear on to the back of the radio panel on Mk1 cars, these brackets are dual purpose and are also used to secure the radio panel to the dash via 4 small screws, 2 each side that screw into the side of the dash. So the glue used has to be top notch. Does anybody know what glue TVR use? Is it just fibreglass resin. Looks a bit like that. Can anybody help. Has anybody changed the radio dash panelfor a new one and successfully stuck therse brackets in position. If so please advise what adhesive you used.

I've just ordered a stainless dash from Leven and the brackets need changing from the original to the new one. Leven said to use 'an epoxy based adhesive'. I have had a few emails from fellow PH's and araldite seems to have worked for most. Hope this helps.

use normal araldite - works fine - used it on mine 4 months ago and still OK

Yup, Araldite here. Bonded between the metal surfaces (roughed up) and also laid as a "radiussed fillet" along the join for support. They won't be going anywhere for a while!
