gah. Just checked it over, and after 2 weeks of near continuous rain the carpets front and back are soggy.
Bloody typical, it hasn't ever leaked once (well apart from the time I washed the hood with a sponge and forgot to re-proof it), and the moment someone comes to take it away, it lets me down!
Its as if Blackpool has it in for me - "HAHAHHA THOUGHT YOU COULD GET AWAY, DID YOU? MWUAHAHAHAH"!
I'll just give the tin of Thomsons to the new owner, I reckon it just needs another coat. Either that, or the slight sideways slope its parked on, and the roof maybe not being aligned perfectly when I last replaced it, have let a bit of water in.

Just wanted to say as well, this won't be the last TVR I'll owned. I defintely want another one in future, although I think its more practical with my job to run it as a second car really. I've done 13000 miles since I bought it late Feb, and I reckon the bills I've paid are probably to do with that high mileage

How does that compare with what you lot have spent? Remember, deduct about £1500 from the running costs because I can charge a lot of my mileage back to clients.

Well I'm a bit worried now.
The car was cutting out on his way home, when the engine was hot, in traffic, idle speed.
Now I've known about this problem for a while, its almost certainly an air leak on the plenum, most likely the air screw, but its not cut out in traffic for ages. I did mention it to him when he checked the car over before buying, but at that time it was only affecting the idle when cold - the engine would hunt for revs for a few minutes, driving a few tens of yards would cure it instantly.
I've told him I'll contribute towards the cost of getting it sorted, but now I feel like I've done the guy over, and I suppose hes disappointed too. I've spent a small fortune looking after the car, and now this happens. I've also asked him when approaching bad traffic, to make use of the fan override switch - as I can only imagine that the hot air under the bonnet is contributing to this minor but annoying issue.
I've sold the car caveat emptor which is normal for a private sale, but what now if something else happens? I'd hate anyone to think that I'm a bit shady, the car is high mileage and things are bound to need attention now and again.
I hate feeling like this. I think, for a while, I need to just forget about cars, they're the source of much love, and also much grief

Spoken to Ian in Middlewich and he reckons that either the airscrew is moving (could be fixed with PTFE tape) and unbalancing the base idle, or the ignition amp is on the way out, which he'd replace FOC.
Hopefully that'll sort it out for him.

I think that you have just summed up why most men think that their car is female.
Seriously though, sad to hear she's gone, if the new purchaser has had a TVR before, then he must know what to expect. He should be pleased to know he has bought from someone who is honest and has a conscience. Rare in someone selling cars these days.
