Bodywork & Paint tip

In case it's of interest to anyone, I've just had the rear of my Cherry Pearl Chimaera repainted and had some grinding / bodywork done too at Racing Green, Ash, nr Guildford in Surrey 01252 544888. Now that they've got a new Paintshop manager, Steve, they've done a truely superb job (after a couple of blips the first time round under the old manager) and I highly recommend using them.

In detail, I had the entire boot lid resprayed and filled where someone had reversed into it, and also the rear nearside and offside wings grinded (ground?) out and repainted. Can't see the paint join and no bubbling or nippling in the surface. Fantastic. Especially considering the difficult colour.

Was your car at Racing green yesterday (9th)...if so i saw it, as I was there getting a bit of work done on mine......red bodywork, and red hood.....looked fab!!!!

The costs to have the bodywork and repainting done were around the £850 mark. So that was to remove the bootlid, grind out the fibreglass and repair, repaint; grind out the rear offside wing and repaint. Respray the nearside wing and across the bumper to match. Also I had a complete waxyole done which was about £350. They've done a good job. Will be interesting how the next 12k mile service will pan out....

No... wasn't my Chim at RG yesterday, but it'll be there for most of next week getting the hood and targa redone. I'm quite interested in getting a matching red hood to be honest - I've heard it looks fab. Mine's black!
