The Wedges have BBWF
The Griffs have Griff Purr or whatever it is
The S's have S Club Heaven
The Cerberas gave CREAM (C***s Ready, Erect And Measured)

So why don't Chimaera's get together for a big national meet?

Iain

Are you volunteering to organise one? You'll need a catchy name for it and a big venue.

Sadly not, I know the time and effort it takes to organise small scale PH meets and that is about the limit of what I can do at present.

Maybe I could help if there was something along the lines of the PH BBQ, Beer and Tent meet at Cadwell Park this year, cos then you could all come and support me racing the Chimaera against all the other inferior TVR models

Earlier this year (i think) we did discuss a "Chimaeroar", but it died a death. Theres no reason why it couldnt be resurrected

Well as it was I who organised BB&T this year, perhaps we could organise something between us. I had intended looking at the race program for Oulton Park when it's released in the spring to see if that would make an appropriate venue for BB&T06. Do you have any early knowledge of the 2006 TVR Series?

I would happily help out with this if we can sort out a meet?

Bob, yes of course, I hadn't made the connection, sorry.
I dont know what the race calender is next year, all I know is were in with the Tuscans (wahey!!!) and there may be an overseas round. As soon as I know I'll let you know, Oulton is great for me as its only 20mins from home, theres plenty of grass, either on the infield or above Knickerbrook/Hilltop.

Anyway Corin has said he'll organise it, so we'd best make sure its not at the Eden Centre!!!

You could all come along to Tarte Sur La Plage...aka Pie On The Beach 5: The French Connection.

But any TVR race meet in the middle of the country is a good contender. There's something to do, catering already laid on, car park marshalls and so on. All one need do is arrange for all the Chimaera owners to go to it. If enough people showed interest it should be easy to persuade the circuit to lay on "dedicated" parking (for Chimaeras!) and possibly even a discount for turning up in one.

You tell 'em five hundred extra cars are turning up and all buying tickets they'll bite your arm off.

MotorSportVision circuits don't manage ticket sales locally. That said it's usually only about £10 for a weekend of non-mainstream motorsport with free camping so I wouldn't bother looking for a discount. There's no problem getting a reserved area. My only issue is that BB&T06 aims to be a PH event. As a Chimaera owner I'm keen that we have a national meet and as long as all comers are welcome I'm happy to combine a Chimaera meet with BB&T.

The only problem with a combined event is it could very easily be seen as an "us and them" event, as opposed to an opportunity for Chimaera owners to meet up, and I imagine there are loads of oweners out there who don't even know of Pistonheads. It might be seen as a you have to own a Chimaera AND be a PH regular to go, which obviously isnt the case.

If you're referring to TVRCC members then you'll need to find an RO willing to take this on. I'm a TVRCC member but I'd rather be organising things for the PH community.

TBH I really don't think there will be any sort of divide, I wouldn't worry about who organises it, if it's a good do people will hear about it and come anyway, new will soon spread.

That's true Corin. Plenty of non-PHers find their way to runs and events that I organise for PH. That's the beauty of PH, it's not exclusive.
