Chimaera 3rd/high level Brake light.

Were later Chims ever manufactured with a 3rd brake light or were they exempt due to small production runs?
Has anyone fitted an "after market" 3rd brake light?

Not required because TVR do not go through Type Aprroval (due to low volumes). Someone did fit one though, requirement for import into Oz/NZ I think.

No harm to the chap, but it looked awful - perched on the boot lid.

Given that the occupants of the ca ehind are invariably ogling the car in great detail (or dissappearing rapidly) its not an omission that worries me much.

Where to put one? Hanging from the hoop would be fairly easy, or a couple of small LED units fastened to the back of the roof stays.

If I remember correctly a third light was fitted on cars for foriegn market and was places in a small curved box on the top of the boot lid in the middle. I think there are photo's of a Griff with it in a book.

Johno's Dad has one. Dad used to have one on his chim as well.

It fits behind the boot IIRC

Most of the time I just ease off the accelerator so I don't see the point of a high level light. There is one car about that has a light fitted which shines through the rear window - was at Gang on the Green IIRC.

I have one on my Griff, it can not be seen until it comes on, not sure if it would be the same on a Chim.
