Reverse Light

My reverse light has stopped working - Have changed the bulb to no effect, any ideas and if its the switch how do i change it etc? - unfortunately another topic not covered in the bible.

Switch is on side of gearbox - it is a common failure.

Check your reverse light by earthing the fitting (switch on gearbox is switched on the earth) the lamp should illuminate.

Another check is the block plug behind the trim behind the passenger (?) seat.

Theres a switch on the side of the gearbox high up near the lever which on my car got a bad case of 'Dodgy Connection' for a while, it was pretty easy to track down... and fiddle with the wires... worth a try if it both lights?

Or is it just one. then it could be the plug connector onto the light cluster.

Mind you having just looked at the bible, later chimps are wired differently to my Griff and they are fused separately so it could also be the fuse, nothing else would stop working..

hello i noticed mine wasnt workin a while back....fiddled with connectors at back of light and it started workin....worth a try!!!rob
